Get the recipe from an Instagram Reel

Recipe Reels move fast, and the ingredients are often only spoken or flashed on screen. Magpie reads the speech, the on-screen text, and the caption, so /recipe can return a list you can cook from. Weeks later, ask for "that one-pan pasta" and it comes back.

Good to know

  • Results are grounded in what the Reel says and shows. Check quantities the creator only implied.
  • File recipes with /collect dinners, or send them to a Notion meal planner.

Questions

Does it work when the recipe is only spoken?

Yes. Magpie transcribes the speech and reads on-screen text as well as the caption, which is where many recipe Reels keep their ingredients.

Is this a full recipe manager?

No. If you want meal plans and grocery lists inside one app, a dedicated recipe app may suit you. Magpie covers recipes alongside places, songs, and everything else you save.
