Frequently asked
Can you search your Instagram saved Reels?
Not inside Instagram. Saved has tabs and collections but no search box. Magpie adds one: share a Reel to @magpie.bot, then ask for it later in plain English, like "that dumpling place in Queens." It searches the speech, on-screen text, and visuals, not just the caption.
How is Magpie different from Instagram Saved?
Instagram Saved keeps a link. Magpie keeps an understanding of the Reel, so it can find it by what you remember and do something with it: pull out a recipe, add a place to Google Maps, save the song to Spotify, or send it to Notion.
Is Magpie a ManyChat-style DM bot?
No. ManyChat and similar tools send automated DMs to your followers. Magpie is for you, not your followers. It only replies to the Reels and messages you send it, and it never messages anyone on your behalf or runs campaigns.
How is Magpie different from ReciMe or Plotline?
ReciMe is built for recipes and Plotline for places, each in its own app. Magpie handles recipes, places, songs, and everything else in one chat you already use, with nothing to install. If you only ever save recipes, a dedicated recipe app may suit you better.
What can Magpie see?
Only the Reels and messages you send to @magpie.bot. It cannot read your feed, your other DMs, or your Instagram Saved folder. Notes you add stay private, even inside a collection you share.
What happens when I hit the free limit?
Explorer includes 100 new saves and 100 searches a month. Hitting the limit never hides or deletes anything you saved. Your past saves stay searchable, and the allowance resets each month. Personal removes the limit for $4.99 a month.
Does Magpie work with TikTok or YouTube?
Not yet. Magpie works with Instagram Reels today. If most of what you save lives on TikTok or YouTube, a cross-platform organizer will fit better for now.
