Automate what happens after you save a Reel

Most saved Reels need the same chore every time: file the recipe, pin the restaurant, log the idea. A Rule is that chore written down once. When the trigger happens, Magpie does the rest, and there is no command to remember.

For
Anyone who repeats the same step after saving, and no-code fans who want saves to flow into other tools.

How to do it

  1. 01

    Pick a trigger

Every save, saves about a topic such as food, a Reel landing in a collection, a note matching a pattern, or a finished Creator Pack.

  2. 02

    Pick the actions

Add to a collection, pin the place in Google Maps, save the song to Spotify, write a note, create a Notion page, call a webhook, or run a Creator Pack.

  3. 03

    Save the Rule

It applies from your next save. Every run is logged with a result for each action.

Examples

  • When I save a food Reel, add it to Recipes and send it to Notion.
  • When I save a Reel about travel, pin the place in my "Lisbon" Maps list.
  • When a Reel lands in "Gym", write the note "try on Monday".
  • When I save any Reel, send it to my n8n workflow.

Good to know

  • Explorer includes 1 Rule with save and topic triggers plus Maps and Spotify actions.
  • Personal includes 3 Rules and adds collection and note triggers plus note and Notion actions.
  • Power has unlimited Rules, webhook actions, transform blocks, and 100 Ask AI runs a month.
  • Rules only react to your own saves. They never message other people or run on a schedule.

Questions

What is Ask AI in a Rule?

On Power and Creator, a Rule can ask one question about the Reel, such as "What phone number is shown?", and use the answer in a note or Notion field. If the Reel does not contain the answer, Magpie records "Not found in the reel" and skips the dependent actions.

What happens if I have more Rules than my plan allows?

Your oldest Rules keep running and the newest ones wait until you upgrade or archive one. Archived Rules keep their run history.
