Save Instagram Reels to a Notion database

Copying a Reel into Notion usually means pasting a link, rewatching the video, and typing out what mattered. Magpie does the typing. You connect a Notion database once, choose what goes in each column, and from then on one DM command creates the page.

For
People who already plan meals, trips, content, or research in Notion and want Reels to land there too.

You need
A Notion workspace and a database you can share with Magpie.

How to do it

  1. 01

    Connect Notion

In the Magpie dashboard, open Skills, then Notion, and connect your workspace.

  2. 02

    Share a database

Share the Notion database you want to fill with Magpie, then pick it as a destination.

  3. 03

    Map the columns

Choose exactly what Magpie writes to every column: caption, link, topic, saved date, or your own text.

  4. 04

    Give it a label

Name the destination, for example "recipes" or "trip".

  5. 05

    Send from DM

Reply to a saved Reel with /notion and the label. Magpie creates the page.

What to send

/notion recipes/notion trip

Good to know

  • Previews in the column editor use your last saved Reel, so save one before you start mapping.
  • Pair it with a Rule to send every food Reel to your recipes database without typing anything.
  • On Power, transform blocks can tidy text, for example keeping only the first line of a caption.

Questions

Can Magpie send Reels to Notion automatically?

Yes. Create a Rule such as "when I save a food Reel, send it to Notion" and every matching save creates a page without a command. Rules with Notion actions start on the Personal plan.

Which Notion fields can Magpie fill?

Any writable column in the database you share. You map Magpie fields such as the caption, permalink, topic, and saved date to the columns you choose, and can preview the result before saving.
